My First eBay Purchase

Hey Everyone! So I have never purchased anything off of eBay before, and I was a little nervous to do so, but now I am obsessed. I purchased this rose gold ring for about $13 and it is made of genuine rose gold and crystal. It is absolutely stunning and I am extremely happy with it. It did however take about 20 days to ship, but the seller discounted the ring for me because it took such a long time to ship. I cannot even express how many compliments I have gotten because of this ring.

For security reasons I used pay pal and it all worked out. Now I may become addicted to online shopping with eBay. I'm a little late on this band wagon.

What amazing things have you bought on eBay? Leave me a comment below!

iPhone Wallpaper Friday

Hello Hello! So I had an idea, since Sally and I alternate Fridays I thought it would be cool for me to do something for all of you every Friday that it is my turn. I am going to start iPhone Wallpaper Friday! Now I know you don't all have iPhones, I just chose it because it's the phone I own and its easiest for me to test, however, if you like the design let me know and I will make one for your phone and can send it your way! Easy as that!

This Friday I did a swan design using the basic forms of origami. You can either download the colours individually choosing between orange, green, blue and purple, or simply download the entire package and pick which one you like best at that time!

Feel free to send me suggestions or even themes that you would like to choose from, or even if you'd like maybe a variety of wallpapers that Friday so you can pick one that fits your style.

This is something I find really fun to do so by all means make requests :) I look forward to hearing them. Enjoy!

Where I've Been

Hey Everyone!

This isn't going to be a really exciting post, I just want to let you all know where I have been. I recently discovered I had a gluten intolerance and because of that I need to be tested for Celiac Disease. Celiac Disease is a condition that damages the lining of the small intestine and prevents it from absorbing parts of food that are important for staying healthy. The damage is due to a reaction to eating gluten, which is found in wheat, barley, rye, and possibly oats. Now in order to test this you have to be on a gluten-rich diet, which means I have to eat the thing that makes me ill.

Now enough of the sob story, I haven't been feeling well lately and I haven't had much energy, however I will be back in full force in a week!

I am planning on doing some gluten-free cooking ideas as well, so let me know if you'd be interested!

iPhone Photo Editing

Hey Everyone! As I mentioned in our Get To Know Us video one of my hobbies is photography, now that being said I don't always carry around my DSLR but I still want to be able to take photos so I can share them. I recently purchased a lens for my iPhone that features a fish-eye, macro and wide-angle lens. I will be doing a review for it shortly when I get a chance to get out and take some photos with it. Now once I have taken a photo I find that often I want to adjust the lighting, the contrast or even give it a nice filter. I also didn't want to have to upload my photos and have to edit them in photoshop only to have to put them back on the phone to share.

After searching for a while I found the two apps that I use most often to edit my photos.

Picfx: This is the app that I use to apply any filters. It allows you to adjust the filters effect and combine multiple filters which I will often do to get the perfect look. Now this app is not currently free, sitting at $1.99 but it is well worth it. I definitely recommend it for those who like to use filters on their photos that are more varied than those Instagram offers.

Snapseed: I was lucky enough to get this app when it was on sale for free but it regularly sits at $3.99. However I use this one the most. It allows you to tune the photo so that you can bring out subtle details to enhance the photo, similar to using photoshop. I will generally use this app before Picfx so that the photo is well adjusted before receiving a filter.

I am hoping this will help you edit some of your own photos and I'd love to see some of them. You can either tag me on Instagram @kelseyinkol (also please feel free to follow me) or send them to us on twitter @lbdgirls :)

Happy Photo Editing!

OOTD: Lace Me Up

I really want to begin to do more OOTD, however I have been working through out the day and by the time I get home it is very hard to get styled set up and photographed so I pieced together a little outfit that I would wear.

I am a huge fan of lace shorts, however the ones I have are a little too short, if you catch my drift so I simply wear them with a pair of fairly opaque tights, I really wanted to elongate the leg in this outfit so I paired it with a pair of high heels in the same black to create a seamless line. Now since my clothing was very neutral I spiced it up with some orange accessories.

Here is every item and how much it costs, all prices are in Canadian dollars:

Jumper: Rag and Bone Sandra Pullover $350
Lace Shorts: River Island Cream Crochet Lace Shorts $23
Tights: Primark Black Opaque Tights $4
Shoes: Liberty Black Suede Platform Shoe Boots $60
Bag: Mode Minimalistic Bag $80
Sunglasses: The Row Leather Wrapped Sunglasses $445
Earrings: Gold Pyramid Diamond Earrings $95
Rings: Belle Noelle Diamond Shaped Ring $35

How do you wear lace shorts? Let me know in the comments!

DIY: Tinted Lip Balm

Hello Everyone! I am back with another fun DIY! I am loving doing these DIY's and they are perfect for those beauties on a budget. Not only do they allow you to have more of your favourite beauty products they also allow you to save a lot by making them yourself! So lets get started.

What You Need:
• Vaseline
• Eye Shadow or Blush (pick one you either don't use or is already broken)
• Jar
• Something to mix with (I used a bobby pin)

How To:
1. Fill your jar with vaseline, you may have to pat it down to make sure there aren't too many air bubbles in the jar.
2. You can either crush up an unused or old eye shadow or blush, or simply take one that is already broken (good solution for those broken products) and mix together with the vaseline.
3. Make sure the product is mixed well.
4. Enjoy!

I made a couple different colours, one that was a little more dramatic and one that is more nude. What I love best about these tinted lip balm's is because you are using vaseline it isn't a sticky formula and it will really help with any dry spells that your lips may encounter.

I hope you enjoyed this DIY, as much as I enjoy making them! Please let us know if you'd like to see more DIY's!

DIY: Wire Bow Ring

Hey Everyone! I have been searching high and low for a bow ring and haven't had much luck so I decided I'd make one. So here is a little DIY.

What You Need:
• wire ( I prefer using either 16 or 18 gauge wire )
• wire cutters
• ruler
• emery board
• nail polish cap

Instructions:
1. Begin by cutting some wire. If you are using a thicker wire so 16 gauge I recommend 7", and 5" for 18 gauge.

2. Take your nail polish cap and begin to wrap the wire around so that it is even on each side.

3. Continue to wrap the wire so that each end is on the opposite side.

4. Take the left side and begin to make a bow loop.

5. Repeat on the other side.

6. Remove the ring from the polish lid. Take the end of the first bow loop and bring it under and over the centre of the bow.

7. Voila! You now have yourself your very own bow ring!

I hope you have as much fun as I did making this! Please tweet us your photos @lbdgirls :)

DIY: Lip Scrub

Hey Everyone! I recently did a post on "a kissable pout" and I mentioned using a lip scrub. So I figured why not do a post on how to make your own lip scrub.

What you need:
• 1 tablespoon of sugar
• 1 tablespoon of honey
• ½ teaspoon of olive oil
• ½ teaspoon of vaseline
• spoons
• jar
• separate bowl to mix in

How to:
1. Start by mixing the sugar and the honey together, make sure that it is mixed well before continuing to the next step.
2. Add in the vaseline and mix it well. Make sure the scrub is an even colouring.
3. Add the olive oil and mix.
4. Scoop the scrub into your jar and seal. The scrub will be good for about a week, at this time it may start separating.

Enjoy!

Here's to kissable lips!

Product Review: EOS Lip Balm

Hey Everyone! Seeing as I have went through both of these lip balms I figured it was time for a product review. I was seeing these all over youtube a while back and I could not find them ANYWHERE. Luckily a couple of months ago I came across a bunch and I was thrilled.

Price: $4 at Walmart

Pros: I love the way these lip balms make my lips feel. I can always trust them when I am going through a rough patch. They also smell amazing, I constantly get people complimenting me because of them. Which is always a plus!

Cons: There size. They aren't ideal for throwing in your pocket when you are at work, but they are perfect to be tossed in my purse and I never loose them. Just not for pocket travel.

Final Verdict: I am definitely on a search for more flavours to try out. I have Sweet Mint and Summer Fruit currently, and I want to try a lot more, however finding them is still a bit of a pain. However if you do have access to them, definitely give them a go.

Have you tried the EOS lip balm? Leave your response in the comments below.

A Kissable Pout

Hey Everyone! Here is a little photo-tutorial on how to get a kissable pout for either every day wear or even that first date! He won't be able to resist. Enjoy!

1 - Start off with exfoliating your lips. You can either make a lip scrub at home with sugar and honey or simply head over to your local drugstore and purchase one. This will leave your lips free from any dry skin.

2 - After exfoliating, just like your face, moisterize. Any old lip chap will do, I am using eos' sweet mint that I got at Walmart for $4.

3 - Take your highlighter or even your concealer and trace around your lips. This will highlight the area and make your lips look fuller. Remember to blend it in well so it looks natural. I am using the highlighter end of my Soap & Glory Arch de Triumph brow shaper which I got for £8 at Boots.

4 - Use either your favourite lip stick or lip stain to add colour to your lips. I chose a stain because it lasts longer and won't come off onto your date. I am using Revlon Just Bitten in the colour Victorian which I got at Walmart for $6.

5 - This is optional, I just finished the look with a light gloss that isn't sticky to add a nice natural shine to the lips. I am using No7 Nourishing Lip Shine which I got at Boots for £5.50 (with £5 voucher).

6- Voila! You're finished!

Happy Kissing!

Product Review: Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara

Hey Everyone! I recently did a tutorial on a summer date night look and I said how much I adore this mascara! Now I know I said that I don't usually rave about mascaras, but this one has changed my mind. Now let me tell you why.

Price: $6 at Walmart

Pros: For one the price is right where I like it, I don't like to spend a whole lot of money on mascara since I go through it rapidly. However the biggest pro for me has to what the formula and brush does to my lashes. It has one of the biggest brushes I have ever seen and this allows it to really lift the lashes and make them look naturally really long and full.

Cons: I honestly can't say I have one... I'm too in love with this product.

Final Verdict: If you haven't tried this and are in need of a new mascara go out and pick this one up. It is the best mascara I have ever tried and I have so many compliments on my eyes when I am literally only wearing mascara! It's amazing.

Have you given this product a try? Let me know in the comments.

What's In My Carry-On Bag For London

Hello Everyone! As some of you may remember I am going to London, England in seven days (cue excitement now) and of course I am bringing all you lovely subscribers/followers with me! So to begin this journey we have to start at the source, and that would be my carry-on bag. So instead of you reading my rambles about what I am bringing you can listen to me ramble about it!

I did however forget to mention I am bringing a full change of clothes with me so that, worse case scenario, my luggage goes missing I will have a fresh set of clothes to change into when I arrive.

So friends, if there are any really neat places you want to see or you suggest I see, leave me a comment and I will be sure to make it a home in my itinerary!

Are you travelling anywhere soon? Let me know!

if you are... Happy Travelling!

Heart and Stroke Big Bike Fundraiser

This coming Tuesday (June 12th, 2012) I will be participating in Heart and Stroke's Big Bike Fundraiser. For this fundraiser you raise money and then ride around on literally a Big Bike. I inserted a little picture below so you could see what I was talking about.

Each team is made up of about 29 people and we ride around the city on the bike. This is done after all of the money has been raised for Heart and Stroke. I will be riding with my work team, and I am very excited to do so, because this organization hits close to home.

Now luckily my story has a happy ending, but many stories like mine, don't. A year ago this past April, just before Easter my grand-pa suffered a heart attack, and luckily he was near somewhere where help was given immediately and it saved his life. After being rushed to the hospital he under went a triple by-pass surgery and is now extremely well and back to his old self. Now this sadly does not happen to everyone and sadly lives are lost every day due to a heart related illness.

The Heart and Stroke foundation is an organization that not only spreads awareness, but also works on prevention. I am not sure if any of you used to do Jump Rope for heart in elementary school but it never really hit me how important it is, I simply thought I got to get time off school and jump rope, now I realize how important this cause is.

I would really appreciate all of your support, and every dollar goes a long way. If you could spread the word about this fundraiser and help me raise money for Heart and Stroke it would be greatly appreaciated. I will link the fund-raising link as well as the link to the Heart and Stroke website below.

Thank you all for your support, and feel free to share your story below.

love always

Product Review: REVLON Photoready Airbrush

Hey Everyone! I am back with another product review. I heard good things about this foundation and decided I'd give it a go. Below are my thoughts and feelings towards the foundation.

Price:  $17.99 (Canadian) at Zehrs

Pros: The coverage isn't too bad, it is a light coverage and there are tiny flecks of "sparkle" that add a really nice dewy finish to the skin, similar to the photoready liquid foundation. This really makes your skin look more awake and youthful. I'd probably stay away from it if you have any wrinkles however since the sparkle may sit in the wrinkle and make you look older than you are. It lasts a fair bit on me, I have normal to dry skin, but I feel like if you have skin more on the oily side, you may want to stick with a more matte foundation.

Cons: To me it has a really odd smell and I find that extremely unappealing, I also find the bubbles of the mousse a little bit strange. Which is purely a personal preference. It's not too build-able in my opinion but if you're looking for something light than this is good for you. If you need a foundation that offers a lot of coverage and will create flawless skin, this isn't for you.

Final Verdict: I am not going to buy this product again, the smell alone really turns me off. But if you aren't as smell sensitive as I am and are looking for a light coverage foundation this will be perfect for you! And as always this is just my opinion, you may have experienced something completely different, each person is unique and will react to things a different way.

Hope that this review has helped you a little in deciding what direction to take! Have you tried the REVLON Photoready Airbrush foundation before? How'd you like it? Leave me a comment.

I Think I Might Be Addicted To Polyvore

Hey Everyone! I don't know if you can tell by now but I am a HUGE fan of piecing together my own outfits and styles, but the main problem is I can't afford to buy clothes all the time because I am still on a very tight budget. So what I do is I like to sit down and make outfits. A lot of the clothes I put together I can't afford or have severe troubles even finding in stores, and one of my friends directed me to this amazing site. A site where I could do just that... build outfits!

Above are the four outfits I have created so far using Polyvore. The site has a nice collection of items, whether they be clothing, home decor and even art, that you can put together as a collage. I am a big fan of just the outfit laid out on a white background but you do have the option of adding backgrounds and templates if you desire.

I am a huge fan of learning new sites and I am a member of way too many social sites but I love them all. If you'd like me to do a post on those let me know. I felt this one needed a little shout out since it is a lot of fun and very addicting.

Here is a link to my Polyvore where you can follow me :) I will be following anyone back and if you already have Polyvore, leave me a link in the comments so I can go and follow you!

Here is my Polyvore: http://kelseyinkol.polyvore.com/

I hope you like the outfits and I hope you enjoy Polyvore as much as I do!
